Girl's Night Out at Divino Wine Studio
I had the pleasure of having a Girl's Night Out with a dear friend a few weeks ago. She took me to a restaurant on Preston Street in Little Italy, here in Ottawa. I trust her taste in good food, especially Italian! As I walked in, I noticed that the restaurant was fairly empty, turns out there was a big party of 25 being catered in the back of the restaurant. We were lucky enough to be sitting at the bar. In most restaurants, sitting at the bar is not the desired dining location, but in this case it certainly was.
The bar is open to the kitchen where owner and Chef, Eric Diotte creates amazing dishes while interacting with his patrons. The service was warm and friendly and I felt like I was having dinner with friends in their home. It was a nice change from the usual eating in a booth and shouting conversation to my friends while a child at the next table has a melt down. The atmosphere was just as perfect as the food!
We shared the meat charcuterie board accompanied by a bottle of Santa Margarita Proseco. We had the Golden pan-seared, aged & smoked Scamorza cheese, with molasses poached apple, Prosciutto & crispy apple chips. Our entrées were homemade Gorgonzola Gnocchi with a radicchio garnish and a Risotto made with Arborio rice, wild mushrooms, red onion and green peas, smothered in a porcini mushroom butter. It was as sexy as it all sounds! All the flavours were perfect compliments to the next!
I highly recommend this great restaurant to anyone who is wanting something different from the standard restaurant franchise. I liked it so much, that I am returning with friends next Friday… and I don't doubt that they will also fall in love with Divino Wine Studio.
Definitely a 10!
