Motivation for a clean house? Invite guests to sleep-over!

I love having a clean house. And if it’s organized, that’s a bonus!

This past Christmas, I invited my sister and brother-in-law to stay with us for a few days, during the holidays. Overnight guests are very different to dinner guests, as I have learned.

I hightailed it down to the basement to prep our lovely guest room. A few steps away, a large bathroom doubles as a laundry room, so you can imagine what happens in there. To arrive at the guest room, you pass through my craft room. I love my craft room, especially when everything is in its place.

I also love my husband, but he often uses my craft room as a place to deposit his tools “momentarily”. There always seems to be small baby clothes waiting to be boxed up and put away on my craft table. And of course, it’s March 1st, so it stands to reason that the Christmas decorations, all seven boxes, are in transit, waiting to be moved the last twenty feet, into the storage area…

I think I will give my sister a call.
